face painting

We went to a little thing where a school was doing a benefit thing. The girls had their faces painted there and we also picked up a couple of things for the house. It was a fun day!!! Ayden wanted to be a rabbit and Addie a lady bug. The line was taking a while and Annie lynne didn't want to wait so her and Kirk walked home, thats why her face isn't painted.

box

Thanks Granny for the box! As you can see Annie Lynne loved her giant pixy stick!
Everything in the box was great and very well appreciated!
Addie and Annielynne's pixy sticks were gone in a matter of minutes, of course Ayden's is still hidden somewhere. It will take her weeks to eat it all. She savors every bit.

my twin tub

I was telling becky the other day about washing clothes and she thought it was so funny, so I decided maybe others would too. If you do not know what a twin tub is, be thankful, I didn't either. We had a normal old washing machine at first and it had issues but was fairly normal, the water went into it very slow so I would have to bucket water in if I wanted it to fill up in less then a hour. However, a few weeks ago it broke and now we have a twin tub. So to wash clothes in a twin tub you fill up one side and put your soap in and set it to wash for however long, fifteen min. is the max. When done you drain the water and then either fill it back up or I just turn the water back on and rinse the clothes under it. Most the time I stop it from draining so the water I rinse with I can use to wash the next load. After I rinse each item it goes into the second small tub, which is less then half the size. In there it spins for a few minutes and then I can take it out. Since the spin tub is only half the size I can only do at most half the load at a time. It is kind of funny and I really don't mind, the machine is not very tall so I have taught Ayden how to rinse them and get the in the spin tub, so thankfully I can get her to help me some. It really isn't bad and I don't mind, it is only hard when I get behind, because a load in the twin tub is not as big as a regular machine.
Anyway, just one more thing to be thankful for back home!!!
As long as I get a load or two done in the morning and hung out then I can stay caught up and things are good.
One good thing about the twin tub is that it saves water since I can use the same water I rinse with to wash the next load. Always need to look for the positive, and at least I do not have to wash by hand!!!

reading

We have just finished reading George Muller to the girls. We have a set of books that are called Christian hero's now and then and one of the books is the story of George Muller. We started out reading for the girls but Kirk and I enjoyed it more then them I think. Adyen did make many comments, and when we were just about finished she said "can you believe that a boy that just wanted to do bad things, changed and did all this for these orphans. She made many comments and asked every night to read it. Addie never seems like she is even listening, but the other day she was playing store with Annie Lynne, one of their favorite games and she was asking Annielynne to pay her in pounds. We have used four different currencies in the last 3 months and Addie does not use any of those instead she uses the one they talk about in the book. At least I know she was listening.
His life story was just amazing to us and to be reminded again just how much our Father moves through pr. was so encouraging and convicting. If you have children these books are a must, we have already read the one about Gladys Aylward and it was just as good.
